
Lecturer on Contract
Antonis Galanopoulos holds a PhD in Political Sciences from the School of Political Sciences at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). He works as a researcher and project coordinator at Eteron – Institute for Research and Social Change.
He obtained his MA in Political Theory and Philosophy from the same department and subsequently successfully defended his doctoral dissertation there, focusing on crisis discourses, anti-populism, and the political uses of the notion of normality. His research interests include discourse theory, contemporary political theory, psychosocial studies, (anti-)populism, and democracy.
He has contributed book chapters to edited volumes and articles to academic journals. He has also participated in research projects, most recently the project “DEPRESPOP: Public Debate over the Prespa Agreement: Discourse, Polarisation and Populism” (2022–2024, University of Crete, funded by H.F.R.I.). In addition, he has translated four books in political theory and history. In 2026, the edited volume On the Tracks of Trauma. Tempi: Memory, Struggle, Justice (Topos publications) was published, which he co-edited.
In the spring semester of the 2025–26 academic year, he teaches the courses “Contemporary Art and Politics” and “Issues of Modern Political Philosophy” at the School of Political Sciences.
