Nikos Rotzokos studied political science at Panteion University, Athens. He continued with postgraduate studies at Paris I – Pantheon Sorbonne University and received his PhD from the Sociology Department of Panteion University. He has worked at Panteion University and at the University of Crete and joined the staff of the School of Political Sciences, Aristiotle University of Thessaloniki in 2000 with subject area “Modern and Contemporary Greek political history.” His research interests include the Greek national movement, the 1821 revolution and the establishment of the modern Greek state. He has published the monographs Revolution and Civil War in 1821 (Plethron, Athens 1997) and National Awakening and National Birth. Orlofika and Greek Historiography (Vivliorama, Athens 2007).
